About the Department:

The aviation industry is a complex and ever-evolving field where precision is crucial, and even minor errors can have significant repercussions.

At Amadeus, we are at the forefront of managing the leading Passenger Servicing System for airlines, catering to approximately 150 airlines and serving over 1 billion passengers annually.

We are seeking passionate Software Engineers to collaborate with our clients, understanding their operational challenges and proposing effective solutions to enhance our Departure Control System (DCS) product. This role is based in our development center.

You will be part of a team responsible for maintaining software that governs the intricate processes related to baggage handling, regulatory compliance, and overall flight management within the Amadeus DCS Customer Management application.

Role Overview:

The Software Engineer plays a vital role in mastering the Amadeus DCS product, contributing to all phases of software development for new features and improvements of existing solutions, ensuring timely project delivery in a collaborative environment. Your responsibilities will include:

Requirements Analysis

Gathering user requirements for the development of new software solutions or upgrades to existing ones.

System Design and Development

Creating technical solutions and conducting feasibility assessments.

Presenting viable technical options to Product Management and/or users for approval.

Developing software in accordance with Amadeus standards.

Designing and implementing database models.

Software Testing and Maintenance

Performing unit, package, and performance testing to ensure quality standards are met.

Participating in the validation phase of the product lifecycle, making adjustments as necessary to finalize the product.

Assisting customers by troubleshooting existing solutions in collaboration with Product Managers or Analysts.

Documentation

Creating necessary software documentation and distributing it to relevant departments.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience in C++, Java, or another Object-Oriented Programming language.
  • Familiarity with Python.
  • Experience with complex applications.
  • Knowledge of multithreading software environments.
  • Experience in Agile development cycles.
