The Category Manager Professional Services is a key member of the Global Non-IT Procurement team at Munich Re, responsible for leading the creation, management, and execution of the sourcing strategy for the Professional Services subcategories.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Sourcing: Collaborate with the global category team to create and implement a comprehensive regional sourcing strategy for spend of assigned subcategories, including Consulting, HR services, Learning & Development, and Recruitment.
- Procurement Process Management: Execute strategic procurement processes, including market analysis, demand management and forecasting, formal tenders, evaluation of offers, contract negotiation, and proposal of contract award and implementation.
- Contract Management: Responsible for gathering and representing business and client requirements within the negotiations and contracting, and preparing contracts in collaboration with the legal department and other specialist departments, if required.
- Spend Analysis: Conduct spend analysis to define quantitative and qualitative optimization goals in the assigned subcategories and product groups.
- Team Collaboration: Work as part of the Regional Non-IT Procurement team, and in close collaboration with the Global Non-IT Procurement team, in the development of sourcing and supplier strategies.
- Reporting and Analytics: Deliver high-quality procurement results and reporting as part of the Americas SSO.
- Contract Repository Management: Maintain centralized contract repository, completed contracts, SOW's, addendum's for assigned subcategories.
- Process Automation: Actively support Source-to-Contract (S2C) and Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process automation and digitization objectives via utilization of global procurement platform (Coupa).
- Business Development: Explore and adopt new areas of the business where Procurement can provide value.
- Education: Bachelor's degree (required).
- Certification: Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management (preferred).
- Experience: 5+ years relevant procurement experience or proven track record in related roles.
- Leadership: Experience in leading strategic sourcing projects in an international environment and ability to orchestrate cross-functional negotiation teams.
- Category Knowledge: Good knowledge across BPO & Professional Services subcategories, i.e., consulting temporary labor, recruitment, HR services.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills with proven experience in delivering category and sourcing strategies and projects, driven, and directed by data.
- Contract Expertise: Proficient contract terminology and expertise in developing alternative clauses where necessary in cooperation with the in-house Legal Departments.
- Collaboration: Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Risk Management: Ability to balance risk and effort on regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Category Strategy: Technical expertise of the supported category strategy with a clear understanding of regional and global strategies effect on local markets.
