As our Colombia Communications Specialist, you will lead efforts for Bitso in Colombia. By being responsible for handling external public relations and communications with industry editors, media personnel, journalists, and other industry participants in Colombia, you will optimize Bitso's quality and frequency of exposure in the country. You will be in charge of overseeing communication with a risk-based approach and work closely with other Business Unites within Bitso such as Marketing, Corporate Affairs and Public Policy.

**Your impact**:

- Lead our communication efforts in Colombia.
- Forge relationships with key industry players.
- Lead relationships and follow-ups with our Colombia PR Agency.
- Edit and draft press releases and communications for corporate announcements.
- Supervise the coordination of spokesperson's participation at external events.
- Create a communication impact-measurement strategy.
- Elect and prioritize spokespersons, talking points and public events.
- Generate and update key messages for Colombia.
- Track engagement across platforms and outreach channels.
- Monitor the news for thought leadership opportunities and company and spokespersons mentions.
- Lead internal communication efforts to ensure cohesion and alignment in values and mission within the organization.
- Work with key executives to bring compelling messages to the press.
- Review internal blogs, newsletters or other publications.

**Who you are**:

- Strong research, writing and editing skills and the ability to translate core ideas into relevant and digestible content.
- Experience developing communications strategies for media.
- Adept at collaborating and working with people across the organization.
- Able to build cross-disciplinary networks of SMEs to contribute detailed content and expertise as needed for effective communications.
- Knowledgeable about broader communications trends and how different mediums are evolving.
- Ability to work at a fast-paced and changing environment.
- 5+ years of proven experience developing and delivering media relations programs in a corporate and/or agency setting.
- Strong speaking and writing communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Solid understanding of Colombian IT media landscape.
