**International Policy Coordinator**

** - This position is based in Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico, or Guyana.**

The International Policy Coordinator will provide administrative, research, and project support for the Global Policy and Government Affairs team, reporting to the International Policy Senior Director. The coordinator is responsible for establishing and maintaining administrative, workflow, and program/project monitoring systems. Perform research and analyze and summarize key findings. Act as liaison with staff and partners. Support program learning events including managing communications, travel logistics, venue oversight, travel reimbursements, and related event expenses. Develop program communications including drafting memos, presentations, maintaining relevant websites, and related communication efforts. Provide administrative support to key staff and manage travel arrangements and the department calendar. Organize conference calls and team/committee meetings; manage agendas, logistics, minutes, and reporting. The Coordinator interacts with CI senior staff and must professionally represent the GPGA division at all times.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support CI’s GPGA Team in leading a cross-CI process related to the implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity’s Global Biodiversity Framework and assist with the development of policy materials, written policy strategies, and work plans to ensure these priorities are successfully executed.
- Contribute to project management tasks (agenda development for meetings, follow-up tasks from meetings, sharing to-dos with meeting attendees, etc.) associated with CI’s NBSAP Support Initiative.
- Provide necessary administrative support such as travel logistics and calendar scheduling for SVP of Global Policy and Government Affairs and other team members as needed.
- Work closely with the SVP when preparing for team retreats, updating the team strategy, and developing team norms.
- Track and collate all information, regular communication with key points of contact internally and externally, develop talking points to support CI participation in strategic and policy engagements, develop, prepare, and disseminate invitations, and secure necessary meeting locations and venues.
- Coordinate across all CI divisions to collate interest in participating in events, meetings, and side events associated with GPGA priorities.
- Participate in regular weekly check-ins with policy leads on biodiversity.
- Lead the strategic engagement process and assist with logistics and internal coordination (including organizing delegation hotel rooms and other tasks as needed) to support CI’s presence at international conventions or internal retreats.
- As needed, design, write, and edit communications materials such as policy briefs, donor reports, and websites for internal and external audiences.
- Work with the entire GPGA team to ensure a standardized approach to knowledge management including consistent updates and use the GPGA SharePoint site and joint planning calendars.
- Complete other communications and research projects as needed.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Typical office environment. Frequent virtual work with remote team members and other parts of CI.
- Ability to work extended hours or non-standard hours to accommodate the multiple time zones over which the team is located.
- Occasional domestic and international travel is required.
- Guidance on flexible work arrangements will be shared during the interview process.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Required**
- High School or Secondary School education.
- 2 to 4 years of related work experience, preferably in the conservation, NGO, or advocacy arena.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Solid attention to detail and strong research and proofreading skills.
- Ability to function well in a multicultural, diverse, and fast-paced work team environment.
- Comfortable managing multiple duties and adapting to changing priorities.
- Service focus. Courteous, tactful, and proven ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability to work under general supervision and take initiative to solve problems under the supervisor's direction.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to coordinate and work effectively as a member of a dispersed team, supporting group meetings in person and remotely.
