About the position:

We are looking for a full-time Senior Accountant with experience in US GAAP to join our team in Medellin, Colombia. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our accounting function and supporting the management of all books and records of our US and Colombian entities. In addition, you will help support the executive leadership team with financial planning and provide financial insights to drive decision-making. 


Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records based on US and COL Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Support computing and filing financial reports and taxes in Colombia
  • Collaborate with third way health’s tax advisors in the US on preparing and filing financial statements and taxes in the US
  • Support accounts receivables, billing, and collections for US clients 
  • Support accounts payable for vendors in the US
  • Support US payroll to ensure all employees in the US are paid timely and accurately
  • Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data
  • Presenting data to managers and executive management
  • Assisting management in the decision-making process by preparing dashboards that combine our operational metrics with our revenue and expenses
  • Keeping informed about current legislation in Colombia and the US relating to finance and accounting

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics or related field (Master’s degree is a plus)
  • 3+ years of experience supporting US companies and working with US GAAP
  • 3+ years of experience in Colombian GAAP
  • Ideal candidates have experience in working for a Big 6 accounting firm (PwC, EY, Deloitte, KPMG, BDO, or Grant Thornton)
  • US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license 
  • Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills.
  • Understanding of mathematics, accounting, and financial processes
  • Attention to detail and extremely organized
  • Advanced PPT / Google slides and advanced Excel / Google sheets skills
  • Experience with data analytics incl. PowerBI, Power Pivot or other tools
  • You are a self-driven problem solver at core who gets things done
  • You thrive in a fast paced, innovative work environments
  • Fluent in English and experience in working with US-based teams
