Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the DBA team ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Implementing PostgreSQL database clusters with replication Manage database security/integrity and backup procedures Upgrade Database instances from lower versions to current versions. Assist with database design and development and tuning queries Independently manage MongoDB installations and configurations in Linux environments and cloud(GCP). Implement multi-data center replica sets and sharded clusters across Linux platforms and MongoDB Atlas on GCP. Ensure database security with knowledge of audit, security, backup/recovery and encryption at rest. Tackle complex problems through conceptualization and reasoningUnderstand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.Education / Experience / Other Information
Must to have : Strong PostgreSQL skills from version 12 to current. Hands-on experience with MongoDB Enterprise and MongoDB Atlas. Proficient in configuring MongoDB in a Linux/Unix environment and cloud Experience with implementing multi-data center replica sets and sharded clusters B1+ level of English Soft sklills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Nice to have : Knowledge of audit processes, security measures, encryption at rest, MongoDB version upgrades (nice to have).Working Conditions
Incumbent in will be working in journeys according to the legislation. it will be required to cover out of business hours shifts-
