This is a senior level position reporting to the Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting with primary responsibility of ensuring proper revenue recognition and associated costs related to our contracts. The Senior Revenue Accountant will play an integral role around revenue recognition and revenue reporting within our Finance department.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Ensuring accuracy and timelinessin accounting forrevenue,deferredrevenue,sales commissions, channel partnercommissions, COGS,accountsreceivable,baddebts,accrued expenses, andotheraccounting areas managed by the revenue accounting team Helpingto maintain processes and procedures for accurate and timelyrevenue recognition and associatedexpense accounting Assisting inimprovingutilization of financialapplicationsusing Microsoft Dynamics 365 to satisfy ASC 606and other GAAPreportingrequirementsincludingquarterlyfinancial statement footnotes Understanding andensuring compliance withrevenue recognition policies forallproduct offeringsand ensuring these policies are reflected inproductsetupwithinthe financial systems Driving the monthly close process ensuring an accurate and timely close of revenue and expense ledgers Preparing/reviewingrevenue,expense, and balance sheetjournal entries andaccount reconciliationsin accordance witharigorousclose deadline Assisting with the review of sales contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition and compliance Helpingto assistthird party auditors to ensure timelyyear-end audit/reviewpreparation Working closely with members of other teams in finance and operations assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue forecasts and plans Maintaining internal controls impacting all accounting areas managed by the revenue accounting team Supporting revenue accounting team efforts with IT, operations, and other members in accounting to drive accounting system and reporting improvementsThe Candidate:
Required skills/qualifications:
Strong work ethic, communication, and organizational skills Self-motivated, can multi-task, and ability to work in a dynamic, collaborativeenvironment Comprehension of GAAP and other authoritative guidance Detail oriented with excellent analytic and problem-solving skills Ability to work with varying levels of employees Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 2-5 years’ work-related experience in a relevant position Strong computer skills: Proficient Excel skills and other Microsoft Office products Fluencyin written and spoken Englishat CEF B2 level or abovePreferred skills/qualifications:
