Position Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive
Accounts Payable Specialist
to join our Accounting team. This role will be responsible for managing vendor payments, supporting independent contractor settlements, and assisting with our current system migration to SAP. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable Operations

  • Process vendor invoices and payments across multiple entities.
  • Manage weekly settlements and deductions for independent owner-operator drivers.
  • Provide support for driver onboarding, fuel card distribution, and escrow account management.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in all payable transactions.
  • Assist with the ongoing system conversion to SAP, specifically related to payables.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with the Accounting team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain effective communication with drivers, terminal staff, and operational management.
  • Provide regular updates to upper management regarding payables and related activities.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Additional Duties

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management to support departmental and organizational goals.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounts payable experience.
  • Experience in the trucking or transportation industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience with MS Office, especially Excel (intermediate level).
