POSITION OVERVIEW
Contec Americas is seeking a Market Research Analyst dedicated to competitive intelligence and market analysis. This role is 100% focused on tracking, analyzing, and reporting on competitive landscape dynamics in the industrial computing sector, providing strategic insights to drive business growth and product development decisions.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Competitive Intelligence
  • Monitor and analyze competitor activities including sales growth, market share, and business strategies
  • Track competitor product launches, roadmaps, and technical specifications
  • Research and document competitor pricing strategies across different verticals and product lines
  • Identify competitor key customers and major account wins
  • Map competitor channel partner networks and distribution strategies
  • Analyze competitor positioning in target verticals (Healthcare, Manufacturing, Defense, Automation)
Data Management & Analysis
  • Maintain and update competitive information in NetSuite
  • Create and manage competitive intelligence dashboards for executive decision-making
  • Develop weekly competitive intelligence reports highlighting key market movements
  • Produce monthly comprehensive competitive briefings for sales and marketing teams
  • Conduct product research to identify market gaps and opportunities
Market Research
  • Track industry trends, emerging technologies, and market shifts
  • Monitor trade publications, industry forums, and news sources for competitive insights
  • Analyze competitive win/loss data to identify strategic advantages and vulnerabilities
  • Research potential new verticals and market expansion opportunities
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 3 years of professional work experience
  • Tech company experience strongly preferred (B2B technology, industrial computing, embedded systems, or related sectors)
  • Proven experience in market research, competitive analysis, or business intelligence
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights
  • Proficiency with research tools, databases, and competitive intelligence platforms
  • Advanced Excel/spreadsheet skills for data analysis
  • Experience with CRM/ERP systems (NetSuite experience a plus)
Communication
  • 100% English proficiency (written and verbal) C1/C2 level REQUIRED
  • Excellent written communication skills for reports and presentations
  • Ability to present complex competitive data in clear, concise formats
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Technical Competencies
  • Experience with competitive intelligence platforms and tools
  • Ability to create dashboards and data visualizations
