As a regional centre, we have implemented, or are currently implementing, work in ten countries across North, Central and South America as well as the Caribbean.

The role
We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources (HR) Specialist to join our operations team and support our mission in Colombia and Latin America. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, research-driven organization that values people and fosters inclusive growth.

In this role, you will manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle, ensuring smooth HR operations, compliance with local labour laws and effective collaboration across diverse teams. You will work closely with managers, internal stakeholders and external partners to build a positive work environment that supports our shared goals, while helping attract, develop and retain talent crucial to advancing sustainable solutions in the region.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the employee lifecycle

  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management and offboarding.
  • Plan engagement initiatives to support retention

Coordinate HR operations

  • Manage and review payroll and benefits processes in collaboration with third-party vendors.
  • Ensure all HR operations are accurate, confidential and legally compliant.
  • Manage the implementation and compliance of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS)
  • Act as the main contact for external partners such as payroll providers, legal advisors and other HR service vendors.

Ensure compliance and regional alignment

  • Maintain up-to-date HR policies aligned with Colombian labour law.
  • Provide guidance to managers to ensure compliance with labour regulations and SEI policies.
  • Support audits, documentation and legal requirements as needed.
  • Report progress, key HR metrics and challenges regularly to SEI Headquarters.
  • Implement global HR initiatives and programs locally, adapting them to regional needs.

Drive process improvement

  • Create clear documentation and procedures for HR processes.
  • Use HR data and feedback to recommend improvements.
  • Stay connected to HR best practices and professional networks.

Who You Are
We are looking for an experienced HR professional with more than four years of experience in managing the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to policy implementation and talent development.

Required Qualifications And Experience

  • Degree in business administration, psychology, law, industrial engineering or related fields.
  • Specialization in human resources management, labor law or related areas.
  • Four to five years of experience managing the employee lifecycle, or a master's degree in a related field with less experience.
  • Experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS).
  • Skilled in recruitment, selection, hiring and competency-based development.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll, social security and employee benefits.
  • Solid understanding of Colombian labour law.
  • High level of discretion and adaptability to handle confidential information and changing needs.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Proficient in Office 365 (English environment).
