Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and dynamic individual to join our team as the
Centre Head of Finance and Accounting
for our Bogotá office. This leadership role will oversee the full spectrum of financial and accounting operations for our organization, ensuring alignment with global financial standards, compliance regulations, and the company's strategic goals. The Centre Head will manage a team of professionals and will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement within the financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Planning and Strategy:

  2. Lead the development and execution of financial strategies to ensure the customer meets its financial goals and objectives.

  3. Oversee budget planning and forecasting, ensuring alignment with customer strategy.
  4. Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

  5. Accounting Operations:

  6. Manage end-to-end accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax accounting.

  7. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards (IFRS or GAAP).
  8. Oversee reconciliation processes for all financial statements and accounts.

  9. Compliance & Internal Controls:

  10. Ensure compliance with local, regional, and global financial regulations and reporting standards.

  11. Oversee internal audits, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  12. Maintain and enhance internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure efficient operations.

  13. Team Leadership and Development:

  14. Lead and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

  15. Foster collaboration between departments, ensuring smooth financial workflows.
  16. Conduct performance reviews and set clear objectives for the finance team.

  17. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  18. Oversee the preparation and presentation of detailed financial reports to management and external stakeholders.

  19. Lead financial analysis on business performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  20. Drive cost management initiatives to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

  21. Stakeholder Management:

  22. Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, tax authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.

  23. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business units to ensure the efficient flow of financial information and decision-making.
  24. Act as a financial advisor to senior management in decision-making processes.

  25. Technology & Process Improvement:

  26. Implement and oversee the use of financial management systems and tools, ensuring processes are efficient and scalable.

  27. Identify and drive improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting tools to enhance the efficiency of the department.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or MBA is a plus).
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or similar are mandatory
  • Experience:
  • At least 15 years of experience in finance and accounting, with a minimum of 12+ years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of local Colombian tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in managing large teams and complex financial operations, ideally within multinational organizations.
  • Proven track record in financial planning, reporting, analysis, and compliance management.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Fluent in both Spanish and English (spoken and written).
