Job Description
The Country Manager – Colombia will report directly to the Regional Manager of South America.
The Country Manager is responsible for all aspects involved with driving growth and profitability within the Colombian market. Over the next 12 months, the primary focus will be on establishing a solid operational foundation presence primarily through Technical Staffing Services to Ecopetrol identifying new sales opportunities within the country been totally compliant with all aspects regarding taxation, accountancy, QHSE and labor laws.
The Country Manager will also assist in reaching company goals through the successful leadership of the regional coordination team. The Country Manager will be supporting the HR team in the recruitment of the new team in Colombia, completing initial local onboarding and ongoing training of their direct report personnel, completing an annual evaluation of performance and ensuring the improvement of country's operational efficiency.
The main duties associated with the role of Country Manager include, but are not limited to:
General
- Ensure that the Fulkrum branch in Colombia is prepared and organized locally in terms of legal, finance, labour, and tax matters for the good development of the business plan.
- Support, assist and be the focal point of the Regional Manager in Brazil and the Compliance Manager in the United Kingdom for all activities related to the on going operations in Colombia ensuring all local legal formalities.
- To work with the Regional Manager and Commercial team to manage all regional sales and marketing activities.
- Drive increased revenue and profit in line with the Company`s growth plans.
- Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events as required.
- Building and maintaining a network of relevant contacts to maximize opportunities for the Company.
- Once required, represent the company in local negotiations related to Union agreements and local communities.
Operations
- Leadership - Provide guidance to the local team in delivering exceptional customer service.
- Staff Development - in collaboration with the HR & Compliance Manager and Regional Manager – South America, manage new personnel recruitment and training and help team members continually develop their skills.
- Invoicing efficiency - Oversee monthly invoicing processes to ensure that account inquiries and errors are reviewed with coordinators and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrences.
- Establishing local HR and Recruitment Infrastructure.
- Support Direct Reports - with Contractual, Commercial, and Coordination Process Enquiries for the Country.
- Internal efficiencies - Offer support and improvement ideas for IRIS implementation, coordination procedures/work instructions, and general office and company efficiencies.
- Evaluate Performance - collaborate with the HR & Compliance Manager to complete direct report evaluations and improvement opportunities.
- Operational Setup and Efficiency by ensuring that the local Company has all necessary legal documents, such as (not limited to) the business certificate, tax license and NIT registration.
Account Management
- Establish a market presence leveraging Fulkrum's external expertise with Ecopetrol.
- Arrange regular review meetings with key clients, assessing the quality of service (field personnel, Fulkrum office staff, reporting, invoicing).
- Support the Vice President, Regional Managers, Business Development Manager and Commercial Manager in negotiating new contracts and extensions to current agreements.
- Drive and develop new business opportunities (i.e. AIM, training, consultancy, auditing, etc.) in country.
- Support Fulkrum management team in strategic planning and growth opportunities.
New Business
- Research relevant projects, companies, and market sectors to identify suitable high-quality new business opportunities.
- Position Fulkrum as a key player in the TSS market in Colombia by using the current contract with Ecopetrol to leveraging cross-selling initiatives plus seeking for other opportunities with clients established in country.
- Researching target companies to identify who makes decisions about purchasing services within Fulkrum's scope of supply and setting up meetings to discuss and secure the work.
- Tracking and logging all business development activities within the Company's CRM system and ensuring the sales pipeline is well maintained.
- Working in conjunction with the Commercial team to execute registration and pre-qualification with Client companies.
- Work with the Commercial team to ensure timely delivery of technically and commercially sound proposals.
- Negotiate as required to close deals and win new Clients.
- Ensure that all sales opportunities are maximized.
Expansion of Company Infrastructure
- Provide the Regional Manager with detailed strategies for penetration into new markets and industry sectors supporting the execution of agreed business plans.
- Be a key player in help and support the Regional Manager in maintaining a good level of governance, control, and compliance with local legislation.
Travel
- Travel will frequently be required throughout the country as necessary.

- All personnel are made aware of Fulkrum's Health and Safety policy and procedures during the Onboarding process.
