Overview:
As a product marketer, responsible for telling the world (and company) the story of our product. You will be expected to be our Customer advocate for their voice and messaging. Additionally, you will collaborate with crafting the strategy around the messaging and marketing for new launches.
Prefer working in a collaborative, cross-team capacity. This role requires you to work across functions and departments to bring to life the product.
You know our competitors like the back of your hand: what they do today and what they plan to do in the future. You also know our buyers better than they know themselves, including how they make their buying decisions. This isn’t guesswork. You back up strategic insights with market evidence and then use that knowledge to drive the development of positioning and messaging that resonates with buyers and empowers our sales channels to be successful.
The Product Marketing Specialist has an in-depth knowledge of target markets and how to best introduce the product into each market. This person use market research and competitive analysis to develop market strategies.
**Responsibilities**:
- Market intelligence—be the expert on our buyers, who are they, how they buy and their key buying criteria.
- Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned.
- Collaborate with product management and marketing communications to develop product positioning and messaging that resonate with our target buyer personas.
- Understand and document our buyer’s process, including where they get information, and the _who_, _what_, _when_ and _why_ behind the decisions they make. Then drive changes to our sales and marketing processes based on what you learn.
- Ability to grasp and present our product’s value proposition in a way that resonates and clearly articulates how we solve our buyers’ problems.
- Collaborate with marketing plan for the products you support in conjunction with our marketing team, including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers.
- Develop product messaging that differentiates new products and services from others in the market
- Communicate the value of new products and services to the sales and marketing team
- Speak and present both internally and externally to promote the story of our product
- Use market research data to determine product pricing
- Create product content such as case studies, videos, website copy and blog posts
- Gain insight into customer use of current products, untapped opportunities and buyer personas
- Collaborate with marketing planning, research, and ROI analysis of product launches for all business segments.
- Develop database of industry events and associations align with target audience demographics.
- Manage search engine optimization and localize online advertising programs for small to medium size businesses.Qualifications:
- 3+ years of product marketing experience with at least 1 years of experience in a market-facing role (e.g. delivering presentations to customers and prospects, conducting competitor analysis and market research)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or similar relevant field
- Prefer working in a collaborative, cross-team capacity. This role requires you to work across functions and departments to bring to life the product.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
- there is a heavy amount of writing, presenting, and selling ideas in this role.- Comfortable using collaboration and CRM tools such as Jira and Salesforce.
- Familiar with marketing automation tools such as Marketo, Pardot and Omniture, and Google Analytics.
- Power user of networking tools such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
- ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is -or isn’t—working
- Must be a strong public speaker, comfortable in front of large groups, and a solid writer.
- Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties. Team player
