**Purpose**

Contributes to the overall success of Scotiabank’s Global Technology Services (GTS) - Infrastructure Operations L2 UNIX team globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted to comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

**Accountabilities**
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Multi-tasking and prioritizing work to meet deadlines in a large complex environment with over 3000 servers
- You will work on automation using Ansible and scripting capabilities to complete day to day UNIX tasks
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporate into in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

**Education / Experience / Other Information**
- You thrive on multi-tasking and prioritizing work to meet deadlines in a large complex environment with over 3000 servers
- You get to work on Solaris, Red Hat Linux operating systems running on Oracle Sparc and x86 HW products, virtual hosts including LDoms, VMware, Veritas Clustering/Storage Foundation/ RedHat clustering, Solaris ZFS and EMC/Hitachi SAN storage products.
- You have at least 7+ years of hands-on technical working experience with the system administration, installation, configuration & troubleshooting of Solaris (versions 10, 11.3, 11.4) and Red Hat Linux (versions 7, 8, and 9) Operating Systems.
- You have at least 5+ of hands-on technical working experience with the configuration, administration, builds and troubleshooting of Veritas/Symantec Storage Foundation (VSF) & Veritas/Symantec Cluster Services.
- You have at least 5+ of hands-on technical working experience with Network Information Service (NIS), Network File System (NFS), Solaris Zones & Solaris Logical Domains (LDoms).
- You can demonstrate a very good technical working knowledge of SAN and Virtualization platforms/technologies.
- You will work on automation using Ansible and scripting capabilities to complete day to day UNIX tasks
- B2 level of English.

**Working Conditions**

When required, non-standard office working hours for scheduled implementations or while on rotational 24x7 on-call support.
