**Principal Location**:Latin America, preferably based in Colombia, Ecuador, Perú, Brazil, Haiti, Venezuela

**Part 1: Role Purpose**:
Street Child aims to be an amplifier of local leadership and impact and works with a large and evolving network of 95+ local level actors and organisations. Since 2019, Street Child has implemented a number of innovative initiatives to advance the localisation agenda, in close collaboration with Education Cannot Wait [ECW], the Global Education Cluster [GEC] and Child Protection Area of Responsibility [CP AoR] - producing powerful evidence where our principles and approach to localization have led to stronger, more sustainable local level actors and organizations.

Working with the Localisation Programmes Manager, the Latin American Regional Coordinator will contribute meaningfully to this programme by researching and mapping existing localization initiatives and building partnerships in 3-6 countries in Latin America, such as Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Haiti, Peru and Venezuela to contribute towards accelerating local level action in the humanitarian/development sector.

The Coordinator is also responsible for representation, and for strengthening stakeholder relationships to increase the scale and scope of our influence and impact in the development and humanitarian child protection and education sector In Latin America. This role may also entail advocacy for increased funding flows and investment in consolidating capabilities and capacities of local level organisations, and improving local level leadership, inclusion, and involvement across the humanitarian system.

This role reports to the Localisation Programmes Manager and will work with a wider team implementing similar initiatives across Africa, South Asia and the Middle East.

**Part 2: Key Responsibilities**:
**Research, regional awareness and (40%)**
- Build Street Child’s awareness of regional, partner, and country issues and developments to inform programmatic work in Latin America
- Carry out desk-based research and interviews to better understand the main challenges, opportunities and allies for Street Child in Latin America
- Based on evidence, develop a Latin American engagement strategy, prioritising countries to work in initially to advance local leadership in emergencies in the education and child protection sectors
- Map out potential allies, funders and national organisations for the programme
- Produce recommendations for future focus areas for in Latin America

**Programme delivery, relationship building and advocacy (40%)**
- Identify areas for influencing funders, international organisations and networks to advance the localisation agenda in Latin America
- Build relationships with existing networks and organisations in the child protection and education sectors
- Build and strengthen strategic communication and coordination with, and capacity strengthening of, clusters, coordination groups, and network, to advocate, advise and assist on increasing funding flows to, and the involvement, inclusion and leadership of, local level organisations
- Build Street Child’s presence and profile at the national and regional levels through regular engagement and evidence sharing across clusters, coordination groups, and networks
- Ensure excellent presentation of our localisation proposition through production and publication of articles, blogs, briefs, and reports
- Share learnings and collaborate across the different country teams taking part in the ELLIE programme

**Capacity strengthening and resource mobilization (10%)**
- Ensure localisation initiatives are informed by expertise and experience from previous programmes, and reflect recent research and evidence on advancing local level action
- Work strategically with identified partners to identify where Street Child can provide targeted and fundraising support
- Identify potential local and international funders and assist in writing funding proposals to these organisations as required

- Experience working in the humanitarian/development sector in Latin America
- Strong knowledge of the humanitarian/development sector in one or more Latin American countries
- Experience of project management and reporting.
- Some experience of working on research projects and writing reports to a high standard.
- Experience working within local level organisations
- Familiarity with conversation
