Smart Wires is currently looking for a **Director of Project Management based in Medellin, Colombia **to support our Project Management team.

**The Position**

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Delight our customers with your professionalism, expertise, and approach. This leader will own project success and client relationships from Purchase Order to Project Close and must be attuned to both customer and commercial team concerns, proactively engaging and resolving on both ends.
- Lead a dynamic, cross-functional team. As the LATAM lead, you will ensure your team operates at a high level, uses sound project management practices, and works well collaboratively. You will deliver feedback - both positive and constructive freely, and will accept the same from others.
- Deliver LATAM projects to meet scope, schedule, and cost while maintaining safety and quality. As the overall project portfolio owner, the Director will work with their Project Management team to balance the overall regional portfolio and will ensure accurate, up-to-date forecasting, early signaling of scope, schedule, or cost variance, and will drive solid, value-driven decision-making.
- Identify and mitigate project risks. As the team and regional leader, the Director will help the Project team with risk identification and mitigation. They should have a forward looking mindset as to what could go wrong so that we anticipate and resolve issues before they occur.
- Prioritize and organize across your team to maximize customer and stakeholder value and ensure high quality delivery. The Director will need to be excellent at clarifying priorities and resources across the project portfolio - always in collaboration with customers and our commercial team’s input.
- Lead with a continuous improvement mindset. Flawless execution is always our goal. When we fall short, we learn from mistakes and get better going forward. The Director will be responsible for implementing standardization of methods, tools, and approach (where appropriate) within the project portfolio and driving continuous improvement always.

**Requirements**:

- Fluent in both Spanish and English
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering, project management, or construction management
- 5-10 years of electrical / utility deployment experience
- 5-10 years of relevant project management experience and a thorough understanding of all project management control systems (scheduling, cost control, safety, procurement and estimating)
- Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting

**Desired Skills and Experience**
- Civil, structural or electrical engineering experience and/or education
- Experience managing projects in a high voltage substation environment
- MS Office fluency
- Proficient in Smartsheet and other collaborative PM tools
- Proficient in MS Project
- Lean process improvement experience
- Possess remarkably strong communication and organizational skills
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certified
- Experience managing large utility and/or EPC projects
- Problem solve independently and synthesize information from various sources
- Work efficiently and comfortably handling multiple projects and tasks concurrently by effectively managing internal interactions and competing priorities
- Determined to make a positive, long-lasting impact on climate change

**Location**
- This is a hybrid or remote position based in Colombia, preferably close to Medellin

**Travel Requirements**
- The role will require travel up to 30% of the year depending on the project as well as international travel to our factory in Florida, USA.
