What we’re working on at Slang

Slang started at MIT as a research project on using AI and NLP to make learning a new language as efficient as possible. Our technology powers a highly adaptive e-learning platform that offers an unprecedented variety of specialized English courses and proficiency tests for career development in over one hundred fields like Sales, Finance, Logistics, Medicine, and Law. With just a small team, we’ve already created the largest professional English offering in the world. Now, we’re scaling up to release 1,000 more courses over the next three years.

What this role is about

As a Class Talent Associate at Slang, you'll assume a pivotal full-time role essential to our team's achievements. Your responsibilities will span various areas, including supporting our English consultants' hiring and onboarding process, crafting and implementing training programs to elevate their skills and performance, and conducting thorough service evaluations.

You'll provide invaluable feedback to refine our talent management practices and diligently monitor performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Reporting directly to Slang's Classes Talent Lead, you'll wield direct influence over the effectiveness of our English consultant team. Join us and play a key role in shaping the success of Slang's language learning initiatives

**Professional and Educational Experience**:

- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field.
- Experience in language teaching, curriculum development, or instructional design.
- Familiarity with the ed-tech industry and online learning platforms.
- 5+ years of experience teaching English to Adult Learners.
- Excellent oral and written English skills (C2)
- A plus: Previous experience in talent management, recruitment, or HR.

**Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in English language teaching methodologies and best practices.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development and instructional design principles.
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs for teachers.
- Knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and talent management strategies.
- Proficient in using performance metrics and data analysis to drive decision-making.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and other relevant software tools.

**Soft Skills**:

- Strong leadership and management abilities to oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of English consultants.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and coaching to support professional growth and development.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify areas of improvement and implement strategies for enhancement.
- Detail-oriented and organized approach to ensure efficient processes and high-quality outcomes.
- Adaptability and flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues from various backgrounds and functions.
- Creativity and innovation to contribute to the development of engaging and effective training programs.
- Passion for education and a commitment to delivering high-quality language learning experiences.
