Job Summary We are seeking a visionary Senior Manager of Telecom Operations to lead our network transformation in Colombia. You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end operational stability and strategic evolution of our 5G infrastructure and Software‑Defined Networks (SDN) . The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in 5G Core (5GC) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) with the leadership acumen to manage high‑performing engineering teams and multi‑vendor environments. Key Responsibilities 5G Lifecycle Management: Oversee the operational readiness and performance of 5G Standalone (SA) and Non‑Standalone (NSA) architectures, focusing on network slicing and low‑latency optimization. Software‑Defined Operations: Manage the transition from legacy hardware to Software‑Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) , ensuring seamless automation of network provisioning and scaling. Network Stability & KPIs: Ensure 99.99% availability across all OpCos. Monitor critical KPIs including throughput, latency, and packet loss using AI‑driven predictive analytics. Vendor & Regulatory Compliance: Lead relationships with key vendors (e.g., Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, or AWS/Azure for Telco Cloud). Ensure all operations comply with MinTIC and CRC regulations in Colombia. Operational Excellence: Implement CI/CD pipelines for network updates and manage a 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC) leveraging AIOps for automated fault resolution. Strategic Budgeting: Manage OpEx and CapEx budgets, identifying cost‑saving opportunities through network virtualization and cloud‑native efficiencies. Qualifications & Experience Full professional proficiency in Spanish and English 10+ years in Telecom Operations, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role. Deep knowledge of 5G Core (5GC) , CUPS (Control and User Plane Separation), and gNodeB integration. Mastery of SDN/NFV , SD‑WAN, and protocol traces (NGAP, NAS, SCTP). Experience with Docker, Kubernetes (K8s) , and Helm charts in a Telco Cloud environment. Proficiency in Python, Ansible, or Terraform for "Infrastructure as Code" (IaC). Understanding of 5G encryption, identity protection, and interface‑level security (N2, N6). Soft Skills Strategic Thinking: Ability to map technical network roadmaps to business growth in the LATAM market. Crisis Management: Calm under pressure during critical network outages or security breaches.
