Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Consultant to join our team at Scotiabank in Bogota.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a technical expert to contribute to the overall success of our Global Operations and Compliance Technology division in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the technical aspects of a software team, making design decisions, guiding team members, and supervising system modifications.
  • Liaise with Bank technical areas to address application, security, incidents, and network issues, as well as project coordination.
  • Participate in all aspects of a project life cycle, including requirements, analysis, design, code, test, implementation, and production handover.
  • Create documentation, including design, operational, and support documents.
  • Complete applications-related artifacts.
  • Lead design sessions and code/program design/review.
  • Lead change management process.
  • Evaluate new technology options and vendor products.
  • Regularly convey status to team and management.
  • Support creation of materials for various management reviews and meetings.
  • Help drive best practices to eliminate waste, increase innovation, and create value for the business.
  • Strong supporting role to Project Managers in developing relationships with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Production support and escalation during the day as well as off-hours.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years solid project management experience in related technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities from both technical and business perspectives.
  • Skilled in communicating design concepts to influence audience for difficult decisions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; vision and innovative approach to computer-based solutions.
  • Exceptional planning and analytical skills, ability to focus on critical issues.
  • Ability to think out-of-the-box.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience of common IT organizational technology and processes.
  • Maturity, diplomacy, negotiation, and influencing skills.
Education / Experience:
  • Computer Science or Engineering Degree or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience developing and supporting applications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of QA methodology, procedures, and standards.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodology backed by hands-on experience, development techniques, and best practices for an enterprise framework.
  • Java design and development experience with a track record in development and deployment of REST web services, JavaScript, configuration, and deployment of services to web application servers in Dev/QA/UAT/Prod environments.
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, you will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
