Gensler is seeking an experienced Design Technology Manager to lead the implementation and management of BIM and digital modeling adoption within our studio environments. As a key member of our Design Technology community, you will partner with our Regional Design Technology Team to establish goals and strategic plans in support of office objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead BIM Implementation

Develop and execute BIM/digital modeling pipeline strategies on projects throughout all phases of the design process.

  1. Partner with Regional Design Technology Leaders

Monitor and report on model metrics and other analytical data throughout the life of projects.

  1. Optimize Model Management

Identify and resolve opportunities around model-management to optimize performance and user-experience.

  1. Establish Best Practices

Develop, communicate, and interpret changes in best practices, protocols, and other related matters.

  1. Develop Project-Specific BIM Execution Plans

Derive project-specific BIM execution plans from the Gensler standards framework set by the Firmwide Design Technology leadership.

  1. Design Technology Strategy

Recognize the degree and complexity of a project and develop the right design technology strategy to optimize project performance as well as support and integrated a lean project delivery framework.

  1. Author Design Solutions

Develop design solutions to address project needs through the use of various tools, scripting, and workflows.

  1. Strengthen Relationships

Develop and strengthen relationships with office and studio leaders by improving communication, transparency, and involvement throughout the duration of a project.

  1. Design Technology Support

Respond to general design technology support requests at the studio and project level.

  1. Identify Workflows and Tools

Identify workflows, tools, and efficiencies that will bring value-proposition to our projects.

  1. Research and Development

Research and develop on a continuous basis, innovative methods based on extensive experience and an understanding of current trends/techniques related to design technology.

Requirements

  1. Education

Bachelor's degree in Architecture.

  1. Experience

5+ years of experience in a project-specific BIM/digital design role of all phases of design and delivery in large/complex projects.

  1. Technical Skills

Expert knowledge of Autodesk Revit Architecture and Navisworks.

  1. BIM360 Project Setup

Expert knowledge of BIM360 project setup, processes, and workflows collaborating with multiple consultants.

  1. AutoCAD

Solid knowledge of AutoCAD.

  1. Design Applications

Familiarity with design applications such as Rhino, Grasshopper, V-Ray, 3DS Max, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, etc.

  1. Visual Programming

Visual programming (Grasshopper/Dynamo) and/or Revit or Python is preferred.

  1. Performance Design Applications

Familiarity with Performance Design applications such as Climate Studio, OneClick LCA, Tally, Fenestra Pro, Ladybug Tools, etc.

  1. Communication Skills

Articulate communicator, able to convey design technology concepts to all levels of design and delivery leadership.

  1. Work Ethic

Punctual, able to adhere to deadlines, and have a strong work ethic.

  1. Creative Thinking

Creative thinker dedicated to problem-solving, research, and innovation.
