Operating in over 90 countries, we boast a diverse workforce of talented individuals from various backgrounds, religions, races, languages, and gender identities.

Opportunity Overview:

Palladium is seeking a Regional/Amazon Fund Associate for a program and grants professional who is passionate about carbon reduction initiatives to join our UK PACT team. The UK PACT program is designed to enhance the effectiveness of key institutions (public, private, and civil society) in partner nations, enabling them to achieve accelerated emission reductions and elevate the ambition of their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). The program aims to deliver the following outcomes:

Enhanced capacity and capability of partner institutions (national, sub-national, and civil society) to implement effective climate actions
Increased local support to urgently facilitate low-carbon development

Position Location:

This role is based in a dynamic regional context.

Your Professional Journey:

If you are a strategic thinker, collaborator, and proactive individual with expertise in operational management, procurement, and grants management, and have experience supporting complex programs in the development sector, we would like to hear from you.

We are committed to fostering a learning environment and providing growth opportunities from the outset. We take pride in offering you the autonomy, resources, and guidance to navigate a rewarding career.

Reporting Structure:

This position will report to the Regional Lead for Latin America / Amazon Fund Manager, UK PACT, with close collaboration with the Regional Grants Manager for Latin America.

Key Responsibilities:

The Amazon Fund Associate will play a crucial role within the Palladium UK PACT team, assisting in the management of daily operations from project execution and reporting to stakeholder engagement and contextual analysis, ensuring the overall success of the program.

Specifically, the Amazon Fund Associate will:

Strategy Development and Engagement:

Conduct ongoing contextual analysis and assess local market capabilities to identify suitable intervention avenues and pathways for climate change impact within key strategic sectors.
Assist in scoping demand for UK PACT-funded projects across various countries in the Amazon Region, including stakeholder mapping and engagement, identifying existing complementary programs to prevent duplication, and horizon scanning.

Stakeholder Relationships:

Support the UK PACT Amazon Fund Manager in promoting funding opportunities to potential implementing partners and communicating project outputs to intended beneficiaries, as well as broader UK engagement in low-carbon development.
Collaborate closely with the UK PACT Amazon Fund Manager to manage daily interactions with local stakeholders, particularly supporting relationships with project applicants and grant recipients.
Maintain a strong working relationship with local teams to collaboratively design and generate support for program activities.

Project Management: Identification, Selection, and Design of Interventions:

Assist the UK PACT Amazon Fund Manager in coordinating grant funding opportunities and engaging local stakeholders to ensure awareness and readiness to apply for funding.
Contribute to the project screening and selection process, particularly in assessing deliverability and potential impact.
Support the UK PACT Amazon Fund Manager in overseeing timely project implementation and ensuring feedback on results, impacts, and learning through regular reporting.
Aid in ensuring compliance with local due diligence requirements from implementing partners and provide initial briefings to potential partners.
Help safeguard against fraud, corruption, and safeguarding risks by conducting checks to ensure compliance with funding requirements.
Assist the UK PACT Amazon Fund Manager in advising on the potential for project extension, scaling, or replication with appropriate approvals.

Program Reporting:

Support implementing partners in project reporting, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
Assist in identifying country and project-specific risk management strategies.

Key Competencies and Preferred Experience:

Proven program and grant management skills, with at least 3 years of experience in managing projects or grants.
Strong reporting capabilities with a track record of contributing to formal reporting and ad-hoc requests.
In-depth understanding of environmental and climate change sectors in the Amazon region, including relevant policy landscapes and actors.
Comprehensive knowledge of the local political economy and business context in the Amazon region.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Strong financial management skills, with the ability to review and assure the quality of financial reports.
Professional fluency in written and spoken English.
Adaptability and flexibility in response to changing circumstances.
Commitment to collaboration and open communication with colleagues and partners.
Dedication to neutrality in stakeholder interactions to build trusted relationships.

Equity, Diversity & Inclusion:

Palladium is committed to embedding equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work. We welcome applications from all sectors of society and actively encourage diversity to foster innovation and success. We strive to ensure that all applicants and employees receive fair treatment regardless of their background or personal characteristics.

Safeguarding:

We define safeguarding as the preventative measures taken by Palladium to protect our people, clients, and communities from harm. We are dedicated to ensuring that all individuals who interact with Palladium are treated with respect and are free from abuse. All successful candidates will undergo a thorough selection process, including safeguarding-focused interviews and due diligence checks.
