The Staff Accountant position at Auxis reports to the Accounting Supervisor and is responsible for performing various senior and mid-level accounting tasks on a daily and monthly basis.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Statement Preparation: Assist in preparing accurate and complete financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Accounting and Financial Operations: Maintain the general ledger by recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Support the month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
- Accounting Policies and Procedures: Assist in maintaining and updating accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory requirements.
- Special Projects: Participate in special projects, such as audits, budgeting, and forecasting, as assigned by management.
- Communication and Collaboration: Respond to inquiries from other departments and external parties regarding accounting-related matters and support the accounting team with other duties as needed.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS and other accounting principles and standards, experience with accounting software, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Personal Qualities: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
