Reporting to the Sales Engineering Manager, you will receive strategic insights related to product and marketing. This position presents diverse challenges that necessitate a blend of design expertise, practical coding, presentation capabilities, technical architecture knowledge, sales insight, business understanding, advocacy, mentoring, and training. The role involves approximately 20% travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Explore and showcase the integration of InterSystems products with various third-party technologies.
  • Maintain the technical rapport with customer accounts, ensuring they are informed about the latest features and capabilities.
  • Identify and cultivate new opportunities within established accounts.
  • Create and present Proofs of Concept (PoCs) for potential clients and partners to demonstrate the effectiveness, user-friendliness, performance, features, reliability, and connectivity of InterSystems technologies.
  • Engage in business and in-depth technical discussions across all levels and departments within the customer's organization to promote the adoption and deployment of InterSystems solutions.
  • Advise on technical architecture, database design, migration strategies, and operational best practices.
  • Install InterSystems software and assist in benchmarking to determine optimal deployment configurations.
  • Act as a hands-on lead application developer, providing guidance to partners and clients, especially during the initial adoption phases or challenging technical projects.
  • Deliver application programming in SQL, ObjectScript, and other relevant technologies.
  • Provide programming support in Python.
  • Conduct corporate presentations for InterSystems' clients and prospects at various events, covering strategic and tactical technical directions and product demonstrations.
  • Facilitate formal training sessions on InterSystems technologies.
  • Support clients and prospects during beta testing or pre-launch activities, offering feedback to development teams.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and collaborate with the World-wide Response Centre (WRC) to resolve technical issues.
  • Offer consulting services to the Sales Department and other InterSystems divisions as needed.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying complex applications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IT industry trends and market demands, with expertise in application and database integration.
  • Extensive experience with multiple databases such as Caché, Oracle, SQLServer, Sybase, Informix, or DB2/UDB, including schema design, SQL proficiency, installation, configuration, and performance optimization.
  • Strong business analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Awareness of the business implications of application development, support, and deployment.
  • Familiarity with HTML5 and modern web frameworks like Angular, as well as design libraries such as Bootstrap, with server-side communication via REST.
  • Proficient in English at an intermediate to advanced level.

Desirable:

  • At least two years of programming experience with demonstrable expertise in object-oriented languages such as C#, .NET, Python, C++, or Java/J2EE.
  • General knowledge of cloud infrastructures including AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Understanding of containerization and Kubernetes.
  • Demonstrated leadership or technical management experience in an application development context.
  • Familiarity with competing application frameworks such as .NET and Java, along with practical experience with major application servers (e.g., .NET, WebSphere, WebLogic, TomCat, Wildfly).

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computing, engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
