Compliance Risk Management Senior Analyst

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Risk Management Senior Analyst to join our team at Citi. As a key member of our Compliance Independent Assessment branch, you will be responsible for monitoring and testing activities to identify potential violations of laws, rules, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform ongoing monitoring and targeted testing to assess the design and effectiveness of key controls addressing compliance risk.
  • Participate in planning, executing, and reporting compliance independent monitoring reviews and issue validation activities.
  • Report and escalate control issues and violations of applicable laws, rules, regulations, or policies.
  • Determine root causes of issues to help the business identify necessary actions to minimize or eliminate repeated exceptions.
  • Track and follow up on identified issues with business lines to validate mitigation.
  • Validate the adequacy of remediation actions taken to address reported issues.
  • Drive quality, reliability, and usability of work products, continuously evaluating and refining methods and procedures.
  • Innovate and generate new ideas to improve data collection and evaluation methods.
  • Question and validate assumptions and status quo, escalating identified risks and sensitive areas.
  • Document solutions and present results in a clear and concise manner to a non-technical audience.

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of regulatory and compliance environment surrounding AML, Sanctions, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption.
  • Experience in AML, Transaction Monitoring, alert clearing, escalations, and investigations.
  • Awareness of Compliance Risk Management Framework, policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for enhancement within current procedures and ensure legality across countries.
  • Critical thinking and maturity to self-manage workload and responsibilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex problems and solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with regional and global partners in other functional units.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, with excellent oral communication and writing skills.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with autonomy in position without close supervision.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree; 5+ years of experience in financial crimes, compliance, or other control-related functions.
  • Professional certification such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) preferred.
