Position Overview
The SOC Analyst plays a crucial role in managing and supporting the operating system environments of our clients, adhering to industry best practices to ensure optimal system performance and availability, particularly in the context of Security Threat incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver L1/L2 troubleshooting for issues related to operating systems, hardware performance, security vulnerabilities, and other fundamental systems management tasks.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of Microsoft Windows Server OS services, including DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, and Certificate Authority.
- Proactively maintain the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Collaborate with client application teams to address operating system, availability, and performance-related challenges.
- Monitor security protocols, backup systems, and redundancy measures in accordance with established standards.
- Work closely with the IT Service Desk, Engineering teams, and vendors to facilitate prompt issue resolution.
- Regularly review event logs based on the specific requirements of the organization or clients.
- Manage assigned tickets effectively, ensuring thorough documentation, updates, and performance tracking.
- Identify opportunities for reducing alerts and enhancing automation processes.
- Contribute to the improvement of Standard Operating Procedure documentation.
- Analyze alert patterns and propose effective solutions.
- Accurately identify, manage, prioritize, and document security threat incidents.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in English and Spanish (oral and written) at a level of 85% or higher (B2+ or above).
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field is preferred.
- Basic understanding of the ITIL framework.
- Foundational knowledge in infrastructure operations management, including backup, antivirus, and patching.
- Basic familiarity with Active Directory services.
- Understanding of cloud computing concepts and basic operations.
- Basic administration skills in Windows Server, with knowledge of networking and Linux.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and email security applications.
- Basic understanding of disaster recovery techniques.
- Familiarity with security incident management processes.
- CompTIA Security+ or CCNA CyberOps Associate knowledge is preferred.
- Familiarity with security appliances and solutions such as IPS, IDS, Firewalls, Alertlogic, FireMon, or EDR solutions is a plus.
- Understanding of IT Security Auditing principles.
- Ability to process logs from various sources, including IDS/IPS, network equipment, and servers, to correlate security incidents.
- Familiarity with IT Security Standards such as NIST 800-53, CIS Controls, and ISO-27000 is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility in work schedules.
