Job Summary

Diligent Consulting Inc is seeking a highly skilled Database Systems Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems to support our business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Design and Implementation
    • Design and implement database systems to meet business requirements
    • Develop and maintain database schema and data models
  • Database Performance Optimization
    • Monitor and analyze database performance using tools such as AWR, ADDM, Explain Plan, and SQL Trace
    • Optimize database queries and indexing to improve performance
  • Database Security and Compliance
    • Ensure data integrity and security across all database systems
    • Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures
  • Database Backup and Recovery
    • Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies
    • Perform regular database backups and restores
  • Cloud Database Services
    • Manage cloud-based database services on AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, Redshift)
    • Implement and maintain database security and compliance in cloud environments
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with development teams to optimize database queries and design
    • Communicate database performance and security issues to stakeholders
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • 4+ years of experience in Database Administration
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Skills and Certifications
    • Expertise in database management tools and utilities: DBArtisan, SQL Server Management Studio, pgAdmin, and MongoDB Compass
    • Proficiency in operating systems including UNIX (AIX, Solaris), Linux, and Windows
    • Experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, Redshift)
    • Relevant certifications in database administration or cloud platforms
  • Security Clearance
    • Applicants selected must be eligible to work in the United States, be subject to a government security investigation, and meet eligibility requirements for access to protected information
