Software Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Specialist to join our team at ScotiaTech. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of fullstack environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion a customer-centric approach to deepen relationships with clients and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Provide specialized technical leadership in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and support for fullstack environments.
- Be involved in the full systems life cycle and responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, and supporting CIAD pipelines that are delivered on time and within budget.
- Create scripts for pre and post-deployment tasks.
- Make recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code.
- Support the IT areas that need development support, ensuring the testing, implementation, and other IT areas have a good understanding of the solutions.
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporated into day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles.
- Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
Requirements
- Must have:
- 3 or more years of iOS development with Swift 5+
- Strong knowledge of SwiftUI, UIKit, Auto Layout, and building interfaces programmatically.
- Good knowledge of coding patterns such as MVVM, MVVM-C, and clean code best practices.
- Good knowledge of Unit-Testing and Integration-Testing.
- Experience in integrating Third Party libraries and SDKs with Swift Package Manager.
- Experience building applications that consume RESTful APIs.
- Competent in software engineering and computer science principles, such as SOLID.
- Experience with tools such as: JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket.
- Comfortable working on a large-scale product as part of a large and complex enterprise, with both new technologies and building on top of legacy systems.
- English level B1.
- Result-oriented, highly motivated, have a keen eye for details, and have very good analytical skills to deliver efficient solutions.
- Curious about technologies, adaptive to changes, a good team player, works efficiently even under pressure, takes ownership of the tasks, and possesses good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Nice to have:
- Experience with TDD.
- Deep knowledge of iOS design best practices and Apple's Human Interface Guidelines.
Working Conditions
- Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
