Cloud Platform Director

We are looking for a Cloud Platform Director to ensure the performance and reliability of our PaaS offering for our customers worldwide. This includes responsibility for the overall day-to-day operations, including system setup and administration, deployment and upgrades, security management and monitoring, capacity planning, availability management, and disaster recovery.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Azure PaaS services, including Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and more. They will provide technical guidance to development teams, ensuring best practices and efficient utilization of Azure resources.

The Cloud Platform Director will lead a team of Azure specialists, architects, and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. They will mentor team members and provide career development opportunities.

The role requires a strong strategic vision and a track record of successful delivery of business objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience leading large-scale initiatives, emphasizing the strategy, design, and development of Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) cloud platforms that extend to private and public cloud deployment models with resiliency, risk, and control governance and metrics, incident management, secure systems development lifecycle, vulnerability management, and data protection.

The Cloud Platform Director will work closely with Bizagi strategy teams to shape the Azure-based Cloud Native strategy and transformation for our customers to adopt new operating models and transform their business to a platform-based approach.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and Azure certifications. They will have extensive experience in technical engineering, architecture, and/or development roles, as well as experience leading large teams delivering full-stack platform support across data centers and private and public cloud.

The Cloud Platform Director will be responsible for managing relationships with Azure service providers and vendors, staying informed about Azure updates, new features, and best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a team leader by enabling teams to generate a vision, establish direction, create an atmosphere of trust, and leverage diverse views, while working collaboratively as a member of a team and executing independently
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
• Working closely with Bizagi strategy teams to shape the Azure-based Cloud Native strategy and transformation for our customers to adopt new operating models and transform their business to a platform-based approach
• Architect and design scalable, reliable, and secure PaaS solutions
• Evaluate business requirements and recommend appropriate Azure services to meet those needs
• Ensure compliance with Azure security standards and industry best practices
• Apply DevOps strategies, designs, implementations, and tools/capabilities/functionalities
• Provide technical guidance to development teams, ensuring best practices and efficient utilization of Azure resources
• Drive towards new Cloud Native ways of working such as Site Reliability Engineering, GitOps, Modern Engineering, and Modern Testing
• Design, develop, and maintain cloud computing infrastructure and platforms by following established processes and procedures
• Design and optimize product testing and deployment procedures. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to PaaS deployments
• Set up, configure, and maintain organizational networks and system infrastructure; generate system improvements based on business needs
• Develop security-related policies and guidelines; applying and monitoring the implementation of a security infrastructure
• Participate in all phases of the cloud integration engineering life cycle; troubleshoot technical problems as they arise
• Provide 24x7 operations for all of Bizagi's Cloud Services
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams to understand customer needs and pain points
• Ensure our PaaS solutions meet customer expectations in terms of performance, reliability, and scalability
• Continuously improve the customer experience by monitoring and optimizing PaaS solutions
• Lead a team of Azure specialists, architects, and engineers
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning
• Mentor team members and provide career development opportunities
• Prioritizes and facilitates a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and systems thinking
• Sets the tone for successful collaboration with other business units and corporate entities

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred)
• Proven experience in cloud computing-based services architecture, technical design, and implementations, including Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IAAS), Platform-as-a-Service (PAAS), and Software-as-a-Service (SAAS) delivery models
• Azure certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert)
• Extensive experience in technical engineering, architecture, and/or development roles
• Extensive experience working in a large IT environment in support of IT service and business processes, with a proven track record of driving large-scale changes
• Proven track record of leading large teams delivering full-stack platform support across data centers and private and public cloud
• Containerization and orchestration, Microservices architecture
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a minimum of 3 years leading and developing a globally distributed team
• Deep understanding of infrastructure automation, instrumentation, and full-stack technologies
• Extensive knowledge of DevOps techniques and strategies for both application and infrastructure builds and releases
• Expertise in cloud engineering and operations, Disaster recovery and business continuity planning
• Thought-leader level knowledge in leading large-scale initiatives emphasizing the strategy, design, and development of Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) cloud platforms that extend to private and public cloud deployment models with resiliency, risk, and control governance and metrics, incident management, secure systems development lifecycle, vulnerability management, and data protection
• Expert experience with cloud management platforms, virtualization strategies, automation and orchestration strategies, public cloud platforms, cloud capacity/performance optimization, and application migrations to a cloud platform with a clear understanding of how an IT organization capitalizes upon technology to enable the business
• Experience leading transformational projects related to IT architecture, engineering, operations, security, and digital adoption
• Experience leading client-facing business development at a C-suite level, engagement delivery, practice development, and thought leadership
• Communicates effectively, anticipates changing business needs, adjusts priorities accordingly, and allocates necessary resources and budget to achieve objectives
• Considers stakeholder needs and input as well as best practices and insights from industry trends when making strategic decisions
• Strong strategic vision and a track record of successful delivery of business objectives
• Knowledge of running a global customer support organization preferable
