Purpose:

Contributes to the overall success of the global Cyber Threat Intelligence function, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  2. Able to conduct research and analysis of emerging cyber security threats and assess the potential impact to the Bank.
  3. Maintains general awareness of the threat landscape in LATAM countries.
  4. Strives to create quality technical papers documenting security threats, risks, and mitigation techniques.
  5. Proficient in communicating situational awareness and technical intelligence to internal and external stakeholders and trusted partners.
  6. Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  7. Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with ScotiaBank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
  8. Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
Education/Experience/Other Information
  1. Possesses advanced communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English and Spanish (At least B1).
  2. Has at least 2 years of hands-on technical working experience in any of the following: network security, information security, and/or network support.
  3. Has developed capabilities in prioritizing and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  4. Working knowledge of various network principles, cyber security concepts, investigation procedures, and adversary techniques.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-resolution skills.
  6. Familiar with evaluating and sharing Indicators of Compromise (IoCs), Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) via reports, formal briefs, and threat indicator sharing platforms.
  7. Familiar with reviewing and recommending countermeasures across various security controls (IDS, IPS, SIEM, Web Content Filtering, etc.) to identify and detect known threats.
  8. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to senior-level executives as well as technical staff.
  9. Broad knowledge of common cyber adversaries, attack vectors, intrusion tactics, and attacker tools.
  10. Experience in analyzing and interpreting data from multiple sources, documenting the results, and providing meaningful analysis reports and briefings.
  11. Post-secondary education in Computer Science or a related field.
  12. Security certifications (e.g., GSEC, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, CompTIA Networking+, ITIL CEH, and OSCP) would be an asset.
