We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst to join our team at ScotiaTech. As a key member of our Cyber Threat Intelligence function, you will contribute to the overall success of the global team, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of our business strategies and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Conduct research and analysis of emerging cyber security threats and assess the potential impact to the Bank.
- Maintain general awareness of the threat landscape in LATAM countries.
- Create quality technical papers documenting security threats, risks, and mitigation techniques.
- Communicate situational awareness and technical intelligence to internal and external stakeholders and trusted partners.
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of your respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
- Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
Requirements
- Possess advanced communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English and Spanish (at least B1).
- Have at least 2 years of hands-on technical working experience in network security, information security, and/or network support.
- Develop capabilities in prioritizing and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Working knowledge of various network principles, cyber security concepts, investigation procedures, and adversary techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
- Familiar with evaluating and sharing Indicators of Compromise (IoCs), Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) via reports, formal briefs, and threat indicator sharing platforms.
- Familiar with reviewing and recommending countermeasures across various security controls (IDS, IPS, SIEM, Web Content Filtering, etc.) to identify and detect known threats.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to senior-level executives as well as technical staff.
- Broad knowledge of common cyber adversaries, attack vectors, intrusion tactics, and attacker tools.
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data from multiple sources, documenting the results, and providing meaningful analysis reports and briefings.
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science or a related field.
- Security certifications (e.g., GSEC, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, CompTIA Networking+, ITIL CEH, and OSCP) would be an asset.
