The Opportunity

The USAID/Colombia Sustainable Agriculture Activity (SAA) seeks to expand licit, profitable, and climate-smart agricultural models for rural producers and value chain actors in conflict-affected regions. This initiative aims to increase incomes, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and promote integrated rural development.

Key Components

  1. Market Development: Improve market access and increase sales for agricultural producers.
  2. Productivity Enhancement: Increase the productivity of licit production systems.
  3. Climate-Smart Agriculture: Expand the use of climate-smart agriculture practices.
  4. Infrastructure Development: Implement small-scale infrastructure projects to support rural development.

The Role

The MEL Director will provide technical leadership in monitoring, evaluation, and learning for the SAA. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and implementing MEL systems to track program progress and outcomes.
  2. Ensuring high-quality data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  3. Overseeing the MEL team and coordinating with technical and regional leaders.
  4. Capturing and disseminating key learnings and best practices.
  5. Ensuring inclusive data collection and reporting.

Requirements

  1. At least 8 years of professional experience in managing, monitoring, and evaluating complex development activities.
  2. Hands-on experience setting up and managing MEL systems for USAID programs.
  3. Demonstrated expertise in designing rigorous data collection systems and data analysis.
  4. Solid understanding of USAID regulations and M&E reporting requirements.
  5. Experience in knowledge management and dissemination of research findings.
