Winery Operations Assistant

The Seasonal General Winery Worker will be responsible for general winery work, including hooking grape trucks, sanitizing tanks, hoses, pipelines, general cleaning, and other related tasks. Ideal candidates have experience in general or manual labor involving consistent heavy lifting and are motivated to work well in teams.

Essential Functions

1. Perform general housekeeping and cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, scooping up debris, pulling weeds, using shovels, water hoses for wash-down of grounds or buildings, painting equipment, and power washers.
2. Operate harvest-related equipment safely, as directed by team leaders or foremen.
3. Scrub pumps, fittings, and miscellaneous equipment parts as needed.
4. Sweep or rake winery floors, grounds, and dispose of all trash and place it in the proper disposal area.
5. Operate cleaning equipment and tools to clean cellar floors, walls, tank pads, outside and inside of tanks, and walkways.
6. Manipulate tank lids to ensure proper opening and closing of tank tops for cellar operations.

Qualifications

1. Must be 18 or older at the time of hire.
2. 1-2 years of general winery worker experience preferred, or general labor experience involving consistent heavy lifting in a production or manufacturing environment.
3. Ability to multitask, work independently, and with a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
4. Must be flexible with shift schedules.
5. Operation of basic hand tools.
6. Must have an excellent safety, work performance, and attendance record.
7. Prioritize while able to adapt to changing priorities.

Physical Demands

1. Position will be exposed to indoor and outdoor environments with varying noise levels.
2. Employee is exposed to wet or humid conditions.
3. Exposed to inclement seasonal weather, summer heat, cold weather, rain.
4. Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and twisting in a production environment.
5. Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry weights up to 60 pounds at varying frequencies with equipment.
