Job Summary
The Winery Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility, including production, quality, safety, training, and development. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this role involves supervising production functions, monitoring staff performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise production functions, including cellar, barrel, tank, and maintenance.
- Train and develop staff, ensuring they follow SOPs and maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitor staff performance, communicate with the management team, and hold individuals accountable for their actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, personnel procedures, and policies.
- Oversee maintenance functions and staff, manage work orders, and maintain accurate production logs and records.
- Recommend changes to work methods, processes, and equipment to improve production efficiency and quality.
- Maintain a close working relationship with other Winery Operations teams and work under the supervision of Operations and Maintenance leaders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
- At least 3 years of experience in the wine or beverage industry.
- 5-7 years of supervisory experience.
- Proficient in MS Office and knowledge of JDE application preferred.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to set priorities and work independently within set guidelines.
Physical Demands
- Primary work environment: production floor.
- Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments with varying noise levels.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting.
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Compensation
- Hiring Salary Range: $108,300 - $162,500.
- Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities, education, and other position-related factors.
