About the Role

In line with Diageo's shared service model, the KYBP Legal Practice (KLP) has been established to carry out legal due diligence for the company in its customer and vendor onboarding. As part of Diageo's statutory regulatory compliance obligations, the company is required to ensure that it does business only with third parties that are ethical and carry out to the same standards as we do.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate information on business partners assessed as potential high risk or medium risk to identify any potential legal non-compliance risk.
  • Advise and recommend risk mitigation plans and oversee potential remediation actions.
  • Approve business partners and advise ROs to proceed with final onboarding.
  • Work with ROs to build clear time-bound action plans for high-risk business partners.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring of red-flagged third parties and ensure all outstanding documentation and information is provided.
  • Review Worldcheck high-risk partners and advise ROs and vendor/customer screening teams to carry out further investigations.
Leadership Responsibilities & Capabilities
  • Develop relationships with Market lawyers and KYBP teams to collaborate on investigations.
  • Work with all team members and partners globally.
  • Support the development of processes and policies, conduct trainings and workshops to facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain performance management of operations and continued performance against agreed critical metrics and measurements.
Qualifications and Experience Required

A qualified lawyer with PQE of 6+ years, with generalist experience in a similar role.
