About the Role

Arup is seeking a highly skilled Urban Environment/Climate Change Consultant to join our Bogotá, Colombia office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and developing resilience and urban planning consulting studies and processes at various scales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement urban management and policy consulting studies and processes
  • Support the preparation of proposals for public and private sectors in Colombia related to urban management, policy, planning, and design
  • Collaborate with other teams to manage and support analytical studies and large projects
  • Conduct research and analysis for project formulation and development
  • Support project presentations, graphic materials, and coordination and project management activities
  • Contribute to building a dynamic, responsible, and innovative urban team and supporting the development of junior staff
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies, Urban Management, Urbanism, or Environmental Engineering/Sciences
  • Master's degree in Urban Management or Planning, Environmental Planning, Urban Economics, Public Policy, Public Administration, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering/Sciences, Climate Change, Sustainable Development, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in urban or environmental management, climate change, and public policy, development, or planning with significant project management experience
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of Colombia's urban and environmental management, climate change policy, development, and regional planning sector, as well as international practices in these areas
  • Excellent command and experience with digital tools, including ArcGis or QGis, as well as familiarity with socioeconomic, quantitative, and geospatial analysis
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in climate change, nature-based solutions, disaster risk management, or urban resilience
