About the Role

This hybrid Systems Engineer position will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Mediastream's content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure and services. The role requires ensuring fast, secure, robust, and scalable access to our digital services for users globally, with a focus on video encoding and transcoding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, configure, and optimize the CDN infrastructure to enhance content delivery speed and security.
  • Continuously monitor CDN performance, identify bottlenecks, and make adjustments to ensure operational continuity and speed.
  • Rotate on-call shifts and synchronously monitor high-concurrency streaming events.
  • Implement robust security measures to safeguard the CDN against threats, including DDoS attacks or others.
  • Collaborate closely with application development and cybersecurity teams to ensure efficient integration of the CDN and the implementation of security policies.
  • Work collaboratively with development and content teams to ensure that content is optimized for delivery through the CDN.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of CDN solutions, network infrastructure management, and support.
  • Exceptional understanding of BGP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, TCP/IP, FTP, Firewalls, and other related technologies.
  • Intermediate proficiency in advanced application and network monitoring tools, such as Datadog.
  • Intermediate scripting programming skills in languages like BASH, RUBY, PYTHON, or others.
  • Intermediate knowledge of AWS Amazon CloudFront & Route 53.
  • Exceptional video encoding and transcoding skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Systems, Networks, or a related field.
  • Additional certifications in Cloud, Cisco, Linux, Networking, Nginx, Docker, or Streaming Technologies.
