Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Leasing Consultant to join our team at University Partners. In this role, you will be responsible for marketing the community, handling day-to-day issues with current residents, and coordinating lease renewals.

About the Job

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $45,000 - $60,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional service to residents, prospects, and visitors by being responsive to their needs and providing solutions in a timely manner.
  • Effectively lease apartments to meet occupancy goals by utilizing sales techniques, negotiating lease terms, and managing leads.
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing Standards in all dealings by staying up to date with regulations and implementing policies that promote equal opportunity housing.
  • Conduct outside marketing activities under the direction of the Assistant Manager and Community Manager to promote the community and increase visibility.
  • Review applications, including credit and income verifications and background checks, to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized lease paperwork and files, ensuring timely completion and submission.
  • Inspect leased apartments prior to move-in to ensure they meet company standards and complete any necessary repairs or maintenance.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents throughout their lease term by responding to concerns, resolving issues, and providing support as needed.
  • Manage lease renewals by negotiating terms, completing paperwork, and ensuring timely renewal efforts.
  • Perform daily opening and closing procedures, including preparing the leasing office and clubroom for use, maintaining cleanliness, and replenishing supplies as needed.
  • Respond promptly to phone calls, emails, and voicemails from residents, prospects, and other stakeholders.
  • Show apartments and coordinate the leasing process to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for prospective residents.
  • Maintain accurate records of guest cards, leasing notebooks, and prospect information in Entrata.
  • Follow up on leads and ensure that all necessary information is complete and up to date.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent experience required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and resolve complex issues.
  • Proficiency in computer software and systems, including Entrata, to manage leasing operations and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds and stand for extended periods, with frequent walking and sitting.
