The role of Accounting Manager, Accounting-2 at Mastercard, reporting to the Director, Accounting, supports the Corporate Controllership team in Purchase, NY. This position is crucial for maintaining the integrity of financial statements by performing key procedures in collaboration with Business Unit and Regional Controllers, as well as Global Business Shared Services.

As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for performing key procedures to monthly and quarterly close to support the Corporate Financial Reporting team. You will assist with research of moderate to complex issues, including interpretation of accounting guidance and provide Corporate team with recommendations that are in compliance with US GAAP. Additionally, you will ensure that company accounting policies are properly maintained and updated or established when necessary.

You will work closely with the Corporate Controllership team in Purchase, NY, and other regional and global teams to ensure seamless coordination. You will also ensure that strong financial controls are implemented and functioning as expected across the organization. Furthermore, you will assist in the preparation of accounting memos, documentation, and analysis, as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Accounting; Certification as CPA or equivalent is required. You will have established credibility as a trusted advisor to business partners and senior leadership on modern to complex technical matters. Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on financial and business acumen, are essential. Experience assessing the effectiveness and oversight of financial control implementation; ensures compliance within a diverse organization. Confident and poised influencer who uses analytical and leadership skills to achieve goals.

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $100,000-$120,000, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work with a global team and contribute to the company's mission of making transactions safe, simple, smart, and accessible.

In addition to the above responsibilities, the Accounting Manager, Accounting-2 will also be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed. This includes adhering to Mastercard's security policies and practices, reporting any suspected information security violation or breach, and completing all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard's guidelines.
