About the Role:

As a Database Reliability Engineer at Amadeus, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of database systems supporting various business functions and services. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining the reliability and performance of database systems, which are integral to the smooth functioning of Amadeus IT's operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with technical leads and developers to design databases that support business applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance, and reliability.
  • Support projects that aim to introduce improvements to the applications owned, and actively contribute to the migration of applications and databases to the public cloud (Azure).
  • Design and develop re-usable, fault-tolerant, and QA-proven automation, working jointly with stakeholders to propose and implement.
  • Drive and support rapid resolution of incidents by involving relevant stakeholders and directing incident recovery process, using automation and tooling directly where applicable.
  • Work independently on technical and functional tasks, and help guide team members in one or more areas of work.

About the Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven hands-on experience with Oracle Databases and a willingness to increase expertise, with OCA or OCP certification being a plus.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix-based environments.
  • Scripting and automation skills in Shell and Python, with software development skills being a plus.
  • Affinity to DevOps working model and related toolchain (GitHub/Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence).
  • Excellent analysis, debugging, root-cause identification, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work in a matrix environment.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.
  • Cloud experience (preferably in Azure) is a plus.
  • Experience working with Monitoring and Logging systems, particularly Splunk, Prometheus & Grafana.
