Key Responsibilities- Implement best practices for database management, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Manage and evolve database monitoring tools, performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.
- Investigate and resolve complex database-related issues, providing technical expertise and guidance to the team.
- Implement designs by writing scripts, configuring systems, servers, cloud resources, including testing, and debugging.
- Design and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide support for database-related incidents.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, science, or business or the equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in one or more of the databases MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc. Experience in MySQL is preferred.
- 5+ years of managing, administering, and tuning databases.
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure in one or more Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP). Experience in AWS is preferred.
- Experience in tools like Terraform, Chef, etc.
- Experience in High Availability solutions like Orchestrator etc.
- Experience in one or more programming languages like Python, Ruby, GO etc.
- Advanced knowledge of database security, backup, recovery, replication, and performance monitoring standards.
- Good understanding of database design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Certifications in Cloud technologies and database technologies is a plus.
