About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to play a crucial role in maintaining our financial health and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data provided to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Preparation: Prepare and file annual and quarterly individual and business tax returns, staying updated with current tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies.
  • Bookkeeping: Manage all aspects of monthly and annual bookkeeping, including recording transactions, reconciliation of accounts, and maintenance of the general ledger.
  • Payroll Management: Oversee the preparation and processing of monthly payroll, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company contributions, handling payroll taxes and compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, distributing reports to clients and providing insight into financial status and operational performance.
  • Client Interaction: Work directly with clients to review financial records, provide financial advice, and answer queries regarding tax, payroll, and accounting matters.
  • Compliance and Auditing: Ensure all financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and internal policies, assisting with financial audits by providing necessary data and supporting documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting with a strong background in tax preparation, bookkeeping, and payroll processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks Online and Desktop, and proficiency in Drake Tax Software.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
