About the Role

As a Cybersecurity Consultant at IBM, you will play a pivotal role in helping clients navigate the complex landscape of information security. With your expertise, you will help organizations design and implement effective security solutions that strike the perfect balance between enabling business growth and protecting against cyber threats.

Working in one of our state-of-the-art IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), you will collaborate closely with clients across various industries to drive innovation and adoption of new technologies. Your ability to accelerate impact and make meaningful change for your clients will be empowered by our robust strategic partner ecosystem and technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the severity and urgency of reported cybersecurity requests based on their impact on the organization.
  • Assign requests to the appropriate teams or specialists based on category type.
  • Evaluate when and how to escalate critical requests to higher levels of support or specialized teams based on complexity and severity.
  • Familiarity with help desk tools such as Jira Service Desk, ServiceNow, Zendesk, or Remedy to log, assign, and track cybersecurity incidents and requests.
  • Maintain accurate records of all relevant information related to requirements, ensuring that support and analytics teams can access useful data to resolve problems.
  • Manage multiple requests and tickets simultaneously, prioritizing critical incidents or those impacting the most users.
Requirements
  • Understanding of key security concepts, including confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA triad).
  • Familiarity with major cyber threats, such as phishing, malware, ransomware, and DDoS attacks.
  • Knowledge of basic security best practices, including password management, multi-factor authentication, and software updates.
  • Able to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users and security specialists.
  • Possesses strong problem-solving skills, able to analyze issues and develop effective solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to coordinate with Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRT) or Security Operations Centers (SOC) to resolve critical incidents.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience, along with opportunities for professional growth and development within the company.
