About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Data Engineer to join our team at Twilio. As a key member of our Information Security Team, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining our Security DataLake, a centralized platform for security data from various sources across our vast portfolio of security tooling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Ingestion and Processing: Design, develop, and optimize Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) processes to move and transform data from source systems to target systems efficiently.
  • Data Governance and Security: Establish and enforce data governance policies and best practices to ensure data security, privacy, quality, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Cloud-Based Data Platforms: Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and modern data warehousing technologies, such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
  • ELT Processes and Orchestration: Experience with ELT/ETL processes and orchestration tools, such as Airflow, and ability to work with distributed systems, such as Hadoop, Spark, or other big data frameworks.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with ability to troubleshoot data-related issues and provide timely resolution.
Requirements
  • 5+ Years of Experience: 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a data analytics field.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and/or Scala.
  • Cloud-Based Data Platforms: Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform.
  • Modern Data Warehousing Technologies: Experience with modern data warehousing technologies, such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
  • ELT/ETL Processes and Orchestration: Experience with ELT/ETL processes and orchestration tools, such as Airflow.
  • Data Governance and Security: Knowledge of data governance principles, data security, and compliance.
  • Visualization Tools: Experience with visualization tools, such as Tableau, and knowledge of Tableau products, including Tableau Server, Tableau Public, and Tableau Desktop.
  • DevOps Tools: Experience with devops tools, such as Git, GitLab, and Terraform.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
