Overview
The primary focus of this role is to ensure that specific individual objectives and initiatives are executed effectively in alignment with the team's strategic goals. It is crucial that all activities adhere to relevant regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster a customer-centric culture to enhance client relationships and utilize broader Bank resources and knowledge.
- Oversee and coordinate testing for various projects/releases.
- Evaluate UAT projects to assess the risk associated with deploying code into the current testing environment, considering potential impacts on multiple projects and applications.
- Develop UAT test plans; review and assign test documentation (functions, test cases, scripts); balance risk mitigation with optimal resource usage while following UAT policies and standards.
- Schedule and authorize project releases into the UAT environment; execute intricate test plans and supervise testing execution, coordinating resources and environments daily to meet project requirements.
- Continuously reassess project priorities in response to frequent changes and take decisive actions as necessary.
- Analyze UAT test results and take appropriate actions; collaborate with the development team to address defects; escalate issues to management when required; recommend code releases to Production.
- Share application and process knowledge with junior analysts within UAT; provide hands-on training on systems, hardware, and methodologies to team members; mentor and motivate staff regarding departmental and project objectives.
- Collaborate with project teams throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure business and technical requirements are met; contribute insights and evaluations during project reviews.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of assigned banking applications, UAT code configurations, system integrations, and code delivery processes; offer technical guidance to development teams and external partners.
- Estimate workday requirements based on project documentation; monitor resource needs and escalate conflicts as necessary.
- Understand the Bank's risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decision-making.
- Strive for effective and efficient operations in line with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring adherence to business controls related to operational, compliance, and conduct risks.

Dimensions
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience in crafting clear and comprehensive test plans and cases.
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries for data validation.
- Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes is advantageous.
- Experience in performance and/or security testing is a plus.
- Proficient in using JIRA.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish, with a proven ability to resolve escalated issues effectively.

Education and Experience
A degree in computer science, IT Business/Management, or a related engineering discipline is preferred, along with 3+ years of practical experience as a QA Test Automation Engineer.
