About the Role

As a Data Center Operations Supervisor at Equinix, you will play a critical role in maintaining the company's digital infrastructure. You will be responsible for providing immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees, assigning tasks, and monitoring work at frequent intervals in the Data Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership
    • Provide immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees
    • Assign, instruct, and supervise the team
    • Plan core duties for the team to complete
    • Ability to manage and supervise a project team
    • Manage personnel compared to workload (could include support from other Data Centers)
    • Ensure staff are fully trained on current functional operational procedures, ticketing system operational procedures, and safety; ensure full compliance with quality assurance program
  • Systems Support
    • Troubleshoot and fault resolve reported/detected faults by investigating the issue, identifying the cause, and implementing the required fix
    • Summarize the findings during the troubleshooting and produce Incident Reports for the customer
    • Perform troubleshooting and support customers
  • Installation
    • Understand customer cabling requirements, perform site surveys, provide cost estimates to Sales, and installation of new cables
    • Perform testing of cables before handing to customer
  • Vendor Management
    • Manage, brief, and instruct vendors for installation, testing, and labeling
  • Maintenance
    • Perform preventive maintenance to Data Center equipment to prevent faults from occurring
  • Project Management
    • Handle multiple projects and assist in designating work to team
  • Technical Expertise
    • Extensive knowledge in network and equipment platforms, systems, circuits, and telecom
Requirements
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
