Job Summary

As a Data Center Operations Supervisor at Equinix, you will be responsible for providing immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees in our data center operations team. Your primary goal will be to maintain schedules and workflow of the team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership
  • Provide immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees, ensuring that they are working effectively and efficiently.
  • Assign tasks and instruct the team on their responsibilities, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Plan and coordinate the work of the team, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Manage and supervise a project team, ensuring that all projects are completed successfully and on time.
  • Manage personnel compared to workload, ensuring that the team is adequately staffed and that all employees are utilized effectively.
  • Ensure that all employees are fully trained on current functional operational procedures, ticketing system operational procedures, and safety protocols, and that they are fully compliant with quality assurance programs.
Systems Support
  • Troubleshoot and resolve reported or detected faults by investigating the issue, identifying the cause, and implementing the required fix.
  • Summarize the findings during the troubleshooting process and produce Incident Reports for customers.
  • Provide technical support to customers, resolving their issues and ensuring that they are satisfied with the service provided.
Installation
  • Understand customer cabling requirements, perform site surveys, and provide cost estimates to Sales for the installation of new cables.
  • Perform testing of cables before handing them over to customers.
Vendor Management
  • Manage, brief, and instruct vendors for installation, testing, and labeling of equipment.
Maintenance
  • Perform preventive maintenance on Data Center equipment to prevent faults from occurring.
Project Management
  • Handle multiple projects and assist in designating work to the team.
Technical Expertise
  • Have extensive knowledge in network and equipment platforms, systems, circuits, and telecom.
Qualifications
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
