The Team

The Global Human Resources Technology team oversees the development, maintenance, and support of Human Resources software platforms and applications at Scotiabank.

The Role

This position focuses on providing integration and technical support for the SAP Fieldglass application, adhering to established programming and testing standards as well as Scotiabank's internal procedures.

This hands-on role necessitates a comprehensive understanding of detailed designs for proposed solutions and monitoring integrations. Expertise in Vendor Management Systems (VMS), Managed Service Provider (MSP), end-to-end Talent Procurement processes, invoicing, contract Life Cycle Management, and integrations with Global Payments is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze intricate business requirements and generate technical specifications to design or redesign software components, solutions, or applications related to current VMS applications.
  • Serve as an expert technical resource for modeling and effort analysis, utilizing industry-leading practices to design, test, implement, and support solutions.
  • Define and document the structure, integration points, and relationships of business processes, organizational work groups, data models, applications, and user interfaces.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and culture should influence daily activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring adherence to business controls to meet operational, compliance, and conduct risk obligations.

What You Will Bring to Succeed:

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) status for the HR application systems managed.
  • Timely delivery of new products is critical; changes must be completed in a risk-based approach within the designated timeframe and budget.
  • Participate in analyzing business processes and requests, writing detailed system and reporting requirements, or leading sessions for analysts to gather necessary information.
  • Lead and participate in reviewing user acceptance test strategies to ensure comprehensive testing aligns with business requirements and fully documents the end-to-end process.
  • Ensure successful implementation of each assigned enhancement or project by contributing to system and user implementation strategies and providing post-implementation problem resolution.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with HR and related systems, such as SAP Fieldglass, and familiarity with Oracle products like PeopleSoft and Travel and Expenses; knowledge of procurement tools like Coupa (SmartBuy) and data management tools.
  • Strong background in monitoring integration projects, ensuring solutions meet business requirements, resolving system issues, collaborating with analysts, and optimizing business processes.
  • Experience with Cloud offerings, particularly Software as a Service (SaaS); knowledge of Azure and Oracle Cloud is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of industry technology trends and best practices related to system interoperability.
  • Thorough understanding of cloud security, user authentication, and web-based application authentication.
  • Hands-on experience with API security patterns such as OAuth2 and SAML2.0.
  • Experience with ETL tools like SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and knowledge of web services: SOAP and REST API.

Education:

  • Previous experience in the financial industry is a plus (2-3 years).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Business or Management Information Systems preferred.
  • 3-5 years of functional systems experience.
  • SAP Certifications are highly desirable.
