Job Description

The Technical Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for leading and reviewing testing for GEOF applications/systems, reviewing and evaluating requirements and design documentation, creating and developing test strategies, and contributing to the preparation of comprehensive test documentation. The successful candidate will also participate in daily testing activities, closely monitor the progress of testing, and evaluate defects raised.

This role requires the ability to react quickly to contribute to the resolution of issues, work overtime to meet deadlines, and implement systems with minimal impact to the Business users. The Technical Quality Assurance Specialist must also be able to assess multiple, overlapping projects with stringent time frames and appraise outstanding issues with the potential of impacting the promotion of initiatives to the Production environment.

The incumbent will provide guidance to the testing team and members of the project teams, consisting of analysts with varying degrees of knowledge, and provide ongoing support to current initiatives, knowledge transfer, and support to individual team members to increase performance. Contribute to the maintenance of a stable, professional environment, while ensuring department objectives are understood and met.

Assist with the coordination of testing activities with other departments and interpret detailed information provided by technical support staff. Participate in forward-planning sessions and identify/resolve conflicts between initiatives.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technical Quality Assurance Specialist with a strong background in testing and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of work experience in IT, with at least 4+ years of experience working in Testing. The candidate should also have strong English language communication skills, with the ability to interact with Senior Management, complete presentations, and provide status updates.

The incumbent must be able to work independently, with a high degree of discretion and independent judgment to determine work priorities, allocation of resources, and approval of code delivery to UAT and Production. The ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and tight project deadlines is essential.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of work experience in IT
  • 4+ years of experience working in Testing
  • Strong English language communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Discretion and independent judgment to determine work priorities
