About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Integration Specialist to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our Global Wealth Engineering team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our business strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Data Integration Efforts: Contribute to the overall success of the Global Wealth Engineering team by executing individual goals, plans, and initiatives in support of business strategies and objectives.
  • Develop ETL Code: Develop and build ETL code using Talend and DataStage, adhering to existing standards and suggesting improvements when possible.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with Business Analysts and other cross-functional team members to create design documents, outlining technical requirements and solutions that address business needs.
  • Participate in Technical Discussions: Engage in technical discussions, client meetings, and presentations of solutions to technical team members and business stakeholders.
  • Assist in Production Support: Assist in production support issues and carry after-hours support responsibilities on a rotational basis.
  • Ensure Compliance: Understand and adhere to Scotiabank's risk appetite and risk culture, ensuring day-to-day activities and decisions align with these principles.
  • Champion a High-Performance Environment: Contribute to an inclusive work environment and champion a high-performance culture.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: 2+ years of ETL experience using Talend and DataStage, with a strong understanding of SQL queries and relational databases.
  • Cloud Technologies: Willingness to learn Cloud Technologies like GCP and Azure.
  • Release Management: Experience with methods of release management, change management, and code promotion.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
  • Language: English language proficiency at B1+ - B2 level.
