Objective

The Global Wealth Engineering (GWE) team is focused on providing comprehensive wealth and asset management solutions to our clients. As we expand into new markets, we are seeking a seasoned Talend Specialist (L7) to execute ongoing projects and create Business-Technology roadmaps for future endeavors. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing development excellence as our team continues to deliver innovative solutions to Scotia customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a customer-centric culture to strengthen client relationships and leverage broader organizational connections, systems, and knowledge.
  • Design and develop data integration modules for ETL processes.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to gather data requirements and conduct data analysis on provided datasets.
  • Explore new technologies and advancements, particularly in ETL and Cloud domains.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional product owners, developers, and quality assurance engineers to facilitate QA processes.
  • Assist the business with ongoing product enhancements and feature development for major releases, while managing parallel releases.
  • Support the business in overall change management initiatives to ensure effective adoption of the Talend platform.
  • Communicate effectively and build rapport with team members, stakeholders, and business partners using diverse techniques and collaboration from initiation to completion. Resolve conflicts/issues of moderate complexity and escalate others as necessary.
  • Actively pursue efficient operations within respective areas in alignment with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring the adequacy and effectiveness of daily business controls to meet obligations regarding operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive workplace.

Qualifications / Experience / Additional Information

  • Essential:
    • Fluency in English (B1+) and Spanish.
    • 1-2 years of experience utilizing Talend for ETL/Data Integration/Data Warehousing.
    • At least 1 year of experience in a Linux environment.
    • Experience with Job Scheduling tools (TWS, Autosys, Control-m, etc.), with a preference for Autosys.
    • Collaborate with technical/business leaders, product owners, software engineers, data architects, and data analysts to gather and comprehend requirements/acceptance criteria.
    • Participate in defining Data Engineering Process and Technology strategies.
    • Design and implement internal process enhancements: automating manual tasks, optimizing data delivery, redesigning infrastructure for improved scalability, etc.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented capabilities.
    • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
    • Aptitude for troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
    • Willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks.
    • Effective communication to keep the team informed.
  • Desirable:
    • Familiarity with Data Integration with Salesforce Orgs.
    • Experience with large volume data architecture is advantageous.

  • Operate in a standard office-based setting; non-standard hours may occur frequently.
